Chloe Burnett SC (Australia) - Speaker

Chloe Burnett SC is a barrister practising in Sydney, Australia.  She specialises in tax law and has appeared in a number of transfer pricing, GAAR and other corporate and international tax cases. She appears for and advises MNEs, private business, family offices, governments, charities and NGOs. She has lectured on an adjunct basis at Sydney University Law School for the last 20 years. Prior to becoming a barrister, Chloe was a solicitor at Allens Linklaters,  She has also worked at Slaughter and May in the UK and Macquarie Bank in Sydney. Chloe has a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the University of Sydney and a LLM (International Tax Program 2005) from New York University.

Prof. Dr. Johann Hattingh (South Africa) - Speaker

Professor Johann Hattingh is a scholar of international tax law and the history of taxation, Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Cape Town, Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, and President of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) South Africa.
He holds a PhD in Law from the University of Cambridge, where he developed a theory of integrative tax treaty interpretation, as well as LLM degrees from the University of Cape Town and Leiden University. Prior to his academic career, he practised in international tax with PwC.
Since 2003, Professor Hattingh has been affiliated with the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in Amsterdam and has served as Chief Editor of the Bulletin for International Taxation since 2019. He is a member of Global IFA’s Permanent Scientific Committee and the International Tax Law Committee of the International Law Association.
He has taught and held visiting appointments at leading institutions, including Cambridge, Leiden, St. Gallen, and Oxford. Author of more than 80 academic publications, his work has been cited by courts in South Africa, Canada, and Switzerland. He has advised the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, contributed to African Union tax initiatives, and continues to advise public and private sector organisations across the continent.

Prof. Dr. Adolfo Martín Jiménez (Spain) - Speaker

Dr. Adolfo Martín Jiménez is a Professor of Tax Law at the University of Cádiz (Spain) and the author of several books and over one hundred articles on international and EU tax law.
He has extensive practical experience—including involvement in disputes and arbitrations—in international taxation, EU tax law, and transfer pricing.
Dr. Martín Jiménez frequently serves as a consultant for multinational groups, law firms, governments, and major international organizations in the field of international taxation. 
He currently serves as Chairman of the Permanent Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association and was a former Chairman of the European Association of Tax Law Professors.

Prof. Guglielmo Maisto (Italy) - Speaker

Guglielmo Maisto founded Maisto e Associati in 1991. He is Honorary President of the International Fiscal Association (IFA).  
He is a Professor of International and Comparative Tax Law at the Università Cattolica di Piacenza, member of the Practice Council of New York University (NYU) Law’s International Tax Program and member of the Board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy. In 2023 he was appointed by the Ministry of Economy and Finance as member of the Technical Committee established for the implementation of the Italian Tax Reform. He is one of the independent persons of standing eligible as a member of the Advisory Commission provided for in the EU Directive on Tax Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in the European Union. He was President of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and member of the Board of Trustees of the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) in Amsterdam. He acted as a consultant to the Ministry for European Community Affairs and was a member of the EU Joint Transfer Pricing Forum. He is a member of several law societies and of the editorial board of various Italian and foreign tax legal journals. He usually participates as speaker to several annual tax conferences.

Editor-in-chief of the IBFD's World Tax Journal, ITAXS, the IBFD Doctoral Series, and the Global Tax Treaty Commentaries. Co-editor of the Series of International Tax Law (Bloomsbury). He is the editor and author of numerous books, articles and book chapters on international and European tax law.
Honorary Professor at the Ural State Law University (Russia) and at the University of Cape Town (South Africa). Doctor Honoris Causa from the University of Örebro (Sweden).
Secretary General of the European Association of Professors of Tax Law. Co-Chair of the Tax Committee of the International Law Association and member of the Permanent Scientific Committee of the International Fiscal Association.
